Lara had a horrible start to life and when she came to us she was absolutely terrified of everyone. Since then it hasn’t taken her long to come out of her shell. Lara gets on well with other dogs if they’re friendly to her but is not good with small dogs or cats.
Update: Lara has been with us for over a year now. She was a very stressed unhappy dog with a lot of behavioural issues when she first came into rescue, which have taken some time to sort out. She is now a happy, affectionate, playful little girl who really deserves a good home of her own.
She is anxious about dogs she doesn’t know and hates being left on her own, so she would dearly love a home with another dog and with someone who could be with her and teach her that she is safe.
Once she knows and trusts you she walks nicely on the lead and comes back when called. She loves to race around a field at breakneck speed and finding and chasing rabbits is the best fun! She loves chasing a ball and does bring it back, but she will test you out.
She is very agile and loves to work and also has a good nose so would train up well for agility, canicross, obedience or working trials. Her ideal home would be with another dog and an experienced handler who won’t let her potential go to waste. Bored clever dogs are usually naughtly dogs and she would be this without something to do. She still has some learning to do and is not suitable to a novice handler. If you have some experience with training clever dogs she will reward you with devotion and skill that you will both enjoy.
